General information
East Torrens Payneham is growing and is in an exciting phase currently with a strong focus on both girls and boys Under 11 and Under 13 recruiting and development. We currently have one senior women’s and two senior men’s teams that offer players a broad range of competition depending on player's ability. We often have junior players who have developed their skills and confidence that play seniors once they get to U17/18 level and even some at U15’s.
Season dates
The first round of our junior season is the first weekend in second term of school. The season finishes in late August with finals for U13, U15 and U17/18 in early September. All games are played on Saturday’s.
The under 11 competitions are broken down into two shorter seasons – one in Term 2 and one in Term 3, typically with a lightening carnival at the end of Term 2. The lightening carnival is held at one venue where each team plays 4-5 mini games.
Under 11 Teams
Both girls and boys play modcrosse as a non-contact introductory version of the game. The field is approximately 50m in length which is half the length of a normal Lacrosse field to accommodate younger players, and is played 5 a side.
• Girl’s teams – Games start at 8:30am and are approximately 1 hour in duration. Games are broken down into four 10 minute quarters with short breaks between each quarter.
• Boy’s teams – Game times and structure is the same as for the girls.
Under 13 Teams
Both girls and boys play with modified rules to allow players to build confidence and develop their playing skills. U13’s play on a standard Lacrosse field which is 100m in length, and use a real Lacrosse ball which requires protective equipment to ensure player safety. Mouth guards are also a requirement at this level.
• Girl’s teams – Games start at 9:30am and are just under 1 hour in duration. Games are broken down into two 20 minute halves with a short half time break.
• Boy’s teams – Games start at 10:45am, and are just over 1 hour in duration. Games are broken down into four 15 minute quarters with short breaks between each quarter.
Under 15 Teams
Both girls and boys play with minimal modified rules to allow players to build confidence and develop their playing skills. U15’s play on a standard Lacrosse field which is 100m in length as well they play with a real Lacrosse ball which requires protective equipment to ensure player safety. Mouth guards are also a requirement at this level.
