Get excited, St Monica's Parish Primary School are entering teams into the Lacrosse SA Winter Season in Terms 2 and 3! Lacrosse will be an Olympic Sport at the 2028 LA Games, and it is hoped it will continue through the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and beyond, so now is a great time to get into the sport.

If your child has been loving the indoor 'come and try' summer season at the Lights, let's continue that momentum into the outdoor winter season! All players welcome from ages 5 and up, even those who have never played before. The winter field games are similar to indoor, however the ball can go out of bounds, rather than bounce against the walls and stay in play.

Games are held on Saturday mornings at 8am and go for about an hour, and will run from May to August (no games during school holidays or long weekends). Games are all held in the same venue; the first half of the season at East Torrens Payneham Lacrosse Club (Turner St Felixstow), while the second half of the season is held North Adelaide Lacrosse Club (Terama St, Gepps Cross).

At Under 8's level, boys and girls play in a mixed team of 5-8 players. In the Under 11's grade, boys and girls are in separate teams with each team having one goalkeeper each. All equipment will be supplied, just wear your summer sports uniform and bring a drink bottle. Under 11's will be provided with a St Monica's playing top to borrow. Coaching will be provided by experienced players from East Torrens Payneham Lacrosse Club.

We request players attend 1 training session per week, however this is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Training sessions will be held at the East Torrens Payneham Lacrosse Club (Turner St Felixstow) on Tuesday nights at 5.30-6.30pm.

The cost will be $220 for Under 11's and $110 for Under 8's. We are accredited with the Government Sports Vouchers program, so if you haven't used this yet, you can put up to $200 towards playing fees (so Under 8's would be free and Under 11's would be just $20). All paid and registered players will be gifted with a FREE Lacrosse Stick that they can keep for future years (provided they haven't played Winter Lacrosse before).

If your child is already 11, the East Torrens Payneham Lacrosse Club will be fielding a team in the Under 13's competition that they would be welcome to join in (4 St Monica's boys are playing in this team). This requires they wear a helmet and gloves, and has minor contact allowed. If your child is new to the game and not confident to start in Under 13's, we may be able to apply for allowance to play in Under 11's.
